General Information

The Radiography and Medical Imaging Program is designed to prepare qualified medical imaging professionals who are capable of performing diagnostic imaging procedures safely, accurately, and ethically. The program provides students with strong theoretical knowledge and practical clinical skills in different imaging modalities, including conventional radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound basics, fluoroscopy, and radiation protection.

The program aims to graduate competent radiographers who can work effectively as part of the healthcare team and contribute to accurate diagnosis, patient care, and community health services.

Mission

The mission of the Radiography and Medical Imaging Program is to provide high-quality education and clinical training in medical imaging sciences, promote safe radiation practice, develop students’ professional and research skills, and prepare graduates who are capable of meeting local and regional healthcare needs.

Program Objectives

By the end of the program, graduates will be able to:

  1. Apply scientific knowledge in anatomy, physiology, pathology, and imaging sciences.
  2. Perform radiographic and medical imaging procedures safely and accurately.
  3. Demonstrate proper use of imaging equipment and modern technologies.
  4. Apply radiation protection principles for patients, staff, and the community.
  5. Provide patient-centered care while respecting dignity, privacy, and cultural values.
  6. Interpret clinical requests and select appropriate imaging techniques under professional supervision.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
  8. Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in clinical practice.
  9. Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities in imaging departments.
