General Information

The Nursing Program is designed to prepare qualified, compassionate, and competent nurses who are able to provide safe, ethical, and evidence-based nursing care to individuals, families, and communities. The program combines theoretical knowledge, laboratory practice, simulation training, and clinical experience in different healthcare settings.

Students are trained in fundamental nursing care, medical-surgical nursing, maternal and child health nursing, community health nursing, mental health nursing, emergency and critical care nursing, leadership, communication, health education, and research principles.

The program aims to graduate nurses who can work effectively within the healthcare team, promote health, prevent disease, support recovery, and contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services.

To be a distinguished nursing program recognized for excellence in nursing education, clinical practice, research, and community service, producing competent and ethical nurses who contribute to quality healthcare locally and regionally.

 Mission

The mission of the Nursing Program is to provide high-quality nursing education and clinical training that develops students’ knowledge, skills, professional values, leadership abilities, and research competencies, preparing graduates to deliver safe, patient-centered, and evidence-based nursing care that meets the needs of individuals and communities.

Program Objectives

By the end of the program, graduates will be able to:

  1. Apply knowledge from nursing science, basic medical sciences, behavioral sciences, and public health in clinical practice.

  2. Provide safe, holistic, and patient-centered nursing care across the lifespan.

  3. Use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.

  4. Demonstrate competence in essential nursing skills and clinical procedures.

  5. Apply infection prevention and patient safety principles in all healthcare settings.

  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

  7. Respect patients’ dignity, privacy, cultural values, and individual differences.

  8. Practice nursing according to ethical, legal, and professional standards.

  9. Provide health education and promote healthy lifestyles within the community.

  10. Respond appropriately to emergency and critical care situations.

  11. Participate in quality improvement activities and safe healthcare delivery.

  12. Use evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and problem-solving in nursing care.

  13. Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, accountability, and professional responsibility.

Graduate Attributes

Graduates of the Nursing Program are expected to be competent, caring, responsible, and ethical healthcare professionals. They should be able to provide safe and effective nursing care, communicate clearly, work within multidisciplinary teams, respond to patient needs, and contribute to health promotion and disease prevention.

They are also expected to demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, clinical judgment, respect for cultural diversity, and commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the Nursing Program may work in hospitals, primary healthcare centers, emergency departments, intensive care units, maternal and child health units, community health centers, schools, rehabilitation centers, public health programs, non-governmental organizations, and academic or research institutions.

They may serve as staff nurses, community health nurses, emergency nurses, critical care nurses after further training, maternal and child health nurses, school nurses, infection control assistants, health educators, nursing supervisors, or clinical nursing instructors.
